About
My name is Ronald Goguen (Ron). I was born and raised in the Roman Catholic faith, having played a 12-string guitar in Catholic choirs the last 30+ years of my active participation. The problem was I felt different than how others my age around me felt. From as far back as I could recall, I had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. There were certain doctrines I took exception to. When my wife of 39 years passed away in 2013, I moved to Texas to be near my son and his family. A year later I met my current wife in south Texas, moved there and we married on New Year’s Day, 2015. Being from different culteral and religious backgrounds, we searched for a church where we could mutually be comfortable, and the Holy Spirit led us to Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship. My (our) spiritual maturity rapidly expanded there. We began facilitating GriefShare and later DivorceCare programs through our church and participating in various other ministries.
In 2017, God called me to become ordained. After almost 4 years of obeying and being better equipped in His Word, I was ordained May 30, 2021.
I began posting “mini-blogs” and sometimes not so mini blogs on FaceBook, as inspired by Christ. The posts became more frequent as the Coronavirus hit and its affect continued to grow. I recently realized that my messages had outgrown that FaceBook platform and decided to create my own blog. This is the result.
My messages are Christ-centered, with emphasis on surrender and obedience. They are not always regular posts, because they are inspired and directed by Christ. I write what and when He places the topic on my heart. In November 2019, God placed the word REVIVAL on my heart to be used as my word for the year. That was several months before the Coronavirus hit. I believe He allowed the virus to strike, in part, so He could cause a spirit of Revival within His people to rise from its destruction. My word for 2021 continues to be Revival. As you scroll through the Archive of my posts from FaceBook, you will see that theme running through them since November 2019. Included is a recording of the message I delivered at CCCF in October 2019 that is the genesis of the title of my web page (Freedom in Surrender.)
