KINGDOM WINDS

“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4)

It’s another one of those mornings.  I was awakened at 1:15 this morning, with the Spirit calling to me. After an hour of just lying there, I got up and opened up this computer. Another one of those early mornings sitting at the keyboard, not knowing what was about to be typed, but trusting in what He wanted said. But first I had to listen to the song He placed on my heart. Fresh Wind, by Hillsong Worship, is based on the above Scripture. Imbedded in the lyrics are strands of other thoughts as well: revival, light-bearers, anointing, move. All themes I’ve been dealing with all year.

Above all the images swirling around me, one other word stood out: CHANGE!

The last two years have been a real struggle for many. Lives have been lost through battles, brutality, riots, natural disasters, disease, pandemic. The world has been turned upside down. Flames of hatred are being stoked. The fingers are being pointed everywhere: the media, politicians, Christians, various cultures, etc. The world is turning darker by the hour. Yet through all of this, and appropriately at this season of the year, HOPE is rising from the “ashes.” Change is in the air.

I can feel it growing, much as the disciples did all those years ago while gathered in the Upper Room. It is building. God is on the move. It may not be easy to discern, but it is there. All you have to do is look for it. So many thoughts, themes, scriptures, plans are spinning in my head. I retired from my 15 hour a week job 3 months ago, to find those hours replaced by 30 hours or more extra work, without a paycheck. The paychecks from the 15 hour a week job put food on the table.  Since retiring, we haven’t missed any meals. God is providing for our needs.  Despite all I’ve been through lately, including kidney cancer surgery, God has His hands in everything. He is still in control.

Change is coming. Revival is upon us. A fresh wind is about to blow.  Are you preparaed? Be ready to embrace what’s coming and be part of the light that will dispel the darkness that has covered the earth for the last few years.

Be Blessed!
